Blackwater, now unpronounceably renamed “Xe Services”, participated in “snatch and grab” operations while under contract for protective services in Iraq. Blackwater teams partnered with the C.I.A., Navy Seals or Army Delta Forces to capture and kill high-value militants in Iraq and Afghanistan between 2004 and 2006. Mark Corallo, a spokesman for Blackwater, said Thursday that the company was never under contract to participate in clandestine raids with the C.I.A. or with Special Operations personnel in Iraq, Afghanistan or anywhere else.
